The T.R.I.O. Project
Teaching and Responding Through Internet Outreach

A new method of musical mentoring
Our Mission
The T.R.I.O. Project is a non-profit internet outreach program designed to provide lessons and music education to rural students who lack access to instruction on their specific instruments due to their geographical location.  It also provides lessons to students in any geographic location who do not have access to a private teacher due to economic hardships.
Current conservatory students in New York City will be assigned as mentors and teachers for this program.

We will be the first to tell you that nothing can take the place of a one-on-one lesson with a teacher in your

hometown…but when that is not an option, T.R.I.O. can help fill the gap.

"Musical opportunities in a small town are few and far between.  Growing up in rural West Texas, I would have loved to have had a friend and mentor who enjoyed music just as much as I did.  Through the magic of the Internet, it is now possible.  And we conservatory students can be the ones to lead the way."
-- Kathryn Peterson, co-founder

"The kind of support that is crucial to aspiring young musicians cannot be measured by monetary terms, but can be overlooked in difficult economic standings.  While my family dealt with constant financial burdens throughout my childhood, I know how difficult it is to keep up with a solid music education in times of economic hardship."
 -- Alice Hwang, co-founder
